Ecolab Receives MHTA Tekne Award

Ecolab Inc. has received the 2011 Cleantech Tekne Award from the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) for its new Aquanomic™ laundry system. Designed for use in hotels and other institutional settings, the Aquanomic laundry system utilizes innovative wash formulas and low-temperature chemistry to reduce water and energy consumption by up to 40 percent while providing clean, white and soft results. Nova-Tech Engineering of Willmar, Minn., which designs, manufactures and services precision-processing equipment for poultry hatcheries around the globe, was named the advanced-manufacturing award recipient at the 2011 Tekne Awards Thursday by the Minnesota High Tech Association. READ MORE

 

 

Sophia Receives 2011 Tekne Award

Sophia, a first-of-its-kind online social teaching and learning platform that offers academic content to anyone, anywhere, free of charge, was the recipient of a 2011 Tekne Award in the Edutech category. The awards, sponsored by the Minnesota High Tech Association, recognize the best and brightest in innovation, development, commercialization and management of technology in Minnesota and were distributed at an event November 3. Global Traffic Technologies, a 3M spinoff, wins Tekne award

 

Global Traffic Technologies, a recent spinoff of 3M Co., won the Tekne Award for Computer Hardware and Electronic Devices on Thursday, the Minnesota High Tech Association said.

The Oakdale company, formed in 2007, makes traffic-control systems that give priority at intersections to emergency and transit vehicles. READ MORE

Imation Corp. a leading global technology company dedicated to helping people and organizations store, protect and connect their digital world, was presented a 2011 Tekne Award for its Defender Collection software suite. Eight Selected for Induction into Minnesota Science & Technology Hall of Fame

They are inventors, researchers, engineers and, in all instances, innovators.  Eight people will be inducted into the Minnesota Science and Technology Hall of Fame during the Tekne Awards ceremony November 3rd.  The Hall of Fame is located at the Science Museum of Minnesota in St. Paul and was created in partnership with MHTA. Bethel University Professor of Physics Emeritus Richard (Dick) Peterson has been named to the Minnesota Science and Technology Hall of Fame. Peterson is one of eight inductees who will be honored at the Annual Tekne Awards celebration on November 3. READ MORE

 

Finalists for Tekne Awards include 2 Duluth companies

Two Duluth companies are finalists for the 2011 Tekne Awards, considered the Emmys of Minnesota’s technology industry.

GeaCom Inc. and Ikonics Corp. are among 42 finalists in 14 categories, vying for the awards given out annually by the Minnesota High Tech Association. The awards honor technologies that educate and improve people’s lives and their futures. READ MORE

 

IKONICS Corporation Named 2011 Tekne Award Finalist

IKONICS Corporation, a Duluth-based imaging technology company, has been named a finalist for the Advanced Manufacturing Tekne award for its Digital Texturing (DTX) technology. DTX combines the company's expertise in ultraviolet (UV) photo-reactive chemistry and industrial inkjet printing to create a revolutionary system for creating textures on a variety surfaces. Avtex Garners Recognition as a 2011 Tekne Award Finalist

The Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) has named Avtex a 2011 Tekne Awards finalist in Mobile and Communications Technologies.
According to a release, Avtex and other finalists will be recognized at the annual ceremony hosted by the MHTA on November 3, at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
